Keep in mind that hair extensions, although made of human hair, will not last forever.jenna

Try shampooing and conditioning your hair 2 to 3 times a week.

Because there is no root, there is no source of moisture or nutrients. This means that excessive use of heating tools such as blow dryers, curling irons and straightening irons will shorten the life of your hair extensions. If you want to make your extensions last, you should use a heat protectant before styling your hair. Dry Shampoo is highly recommended if you have oily hair or need to wash your hair more than 3 times a week. It will instantly make your hair look and feel clean and fresh without having to wash it!

The only products that we recommend to keep your hair extensions soft and silky are the following:

PUREOLOGY HYDRATE SHEER SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER

This concentrated, but lightweight, moisturizing shampoo and conditioner from Pureology is Silicone-Free to avoid weighing hair down, and is infused with a signature aromatherapy blend of Peppermint and Corn Mint Essential Oils.

BIOSILK SILK THERAPY ORIGINAL OIL

BioSilk Silk Therapy is an original weightless, leave-in silk replenishing and reconstructing treatment that fills any voids in cuticle layers for smooth results. It helps temporarily repair split ends and is ideal for all hair types. Place a small amount in the palm and apply on your ends before styling your hair. May be used on wet on dry hair. Use as often as necessary.

*Using the wrong products will result in dry, dull, tangled, damaged and unmanageable hair extensions.

Remedy for Itchy Scalp: Add few drops of Tea Tree Oil to your shampoo and use as usual.

Washing: When washing your hair, always use a shower hose. Do not turn your head upside down as this may cause tangling.

Sleeping: Braid hair into one loose braid to prevent tangling. Never sleep on wet hair, always make sure hair is completely dry before going to bed.

Swimming: Always wet hair with tap water, apply conditioner and braid hair before swimming to help avoid tangling. Avoid salt water, (the worst for extensions), and chlorine. Wash your hair after exercise, swimming etc. It is recommended to wear your hair up or in a ponytail when you swim or exercise.

Hair Shedding Process: On average we lose around 50-100 hairs per day as part of this natural process. However, when you are wearing hair extensions, shed hair that would normally come out in your brush or in the shower, will still be attached to the extension and will not come out until the extension is removed. When the hair extensions are removed, the shed hair is combed out and it appears as though a lot of hair is coming out all at once. There is no need to be concerned that your hair is falling out during the removal process, as this is simply the naturally shed hair being released.

BRUSHING YOUR EXTENSIONS

A bristle brush is recommended as it is more gentle on the hair. Separate extensions with fingers to prevent tangling. Work from bottom brushing gently upwards. Remember to hold the extensions in the root area. Do not brush hair extensions when wet because it results in more breakage at the root and hair shaft. Brush only twice a day to avoid unnecessary shedding.

Everyone's hair is different! Some people's hair will last few months without any hair extensions sliding out, unfortunately this is not the case for everyone! This depends on your natural hair type.

Keeping hair extensions for long periods of time in your hair will not make your hair grow. They must be re-applied every 2-3 months to ensure no damage occurs to your hair. If you wish, you may have your hair extensions removed and reapplied on the same day.
